Sky Ferreira’s new album Massochism will drop this summer
The model-turned-musician has confirmed that the album will be executively produced by Mike Dean, Kanye West’s producer
Sky Ferreira says the long awaited follow-up to her 2013 debut will be out this summer.
The singer confirmed in an interview with Dazed that the album will be produced by Mike Dean (Kanye West’s producer), Rahiki (Kendrick Lamar’s producer) and Ariel Rechtshaid who produced her debut album Night Time, My Time.
The indie-pop princess previously planned for Masochism’s release to be sometime last year but the LP was put on hold due to health issues.
On the album’s title Ferreira says:
“I became a bit of a masochist in every single way – for a while it was like, ‘If it doesn’t hurt then it’s not real.’ That is honestly how I felt. I’m still in the thick of everything changing, but change sucks! It’s good in the long run, but it’s fucking weird and uncomfortable. When I feel like I’ve reached the point where I’m somewhat comfortable with it, that’s when the album ends.”
The article hints at the release of single from Masochism in the near future so stay tuned!
