Simple Things EP

Glasgow producer Alex Smoke has a knack of taking a familiar sound and turning it into something new. In this instance, it’s minimal German house: rather than churning out glitch by numbers, ‘Simple Things’ is dominated by a visceral bassline and howling feedback, while the jacking rhythms of ‘Pingu’ is an uneasy mixture of Chicago’s house and Berlin techno.
