THE DUDLEY CORPORATION take to the road next month in support of their The Lonely World Of… album.
Kicking off with a hometown headliner at Whelan’s on September 10th, the trek then takes in ROTA, Notting Hill Arts Club, London (15th + Jet Johnson & Econoline); Upstairs @ The Garage, London (16th + Querelle & Smou); Venue TBC, Belfast (29th + Billy Mahonie); and Venue TBC, Glasgow (October 6th + Joan Of Arse & Lapsus Linguae).
Due for release here on Scientific Laboratories, the 14-track opus has also been picked up in the US by the Unlike Label.
NOT CONTENT WITH scoring back to back number ones here, Shaggy 747s over in October for shows at the Odyssey, Belfast (9th) and The Point Theatre (10th).
The most successful ragga artist in the world…ever, the former American marine will be accompanied by a coterie of special guests.
Also Point-bound are ‘American Pie’ man Don McLean (October 30th) and Liam Mackey’s fave ‘70s raves, Jethro Tull (December 2nd).
THE TRAVELLING IMRO Music Industry Seminar makes it to Castlebar on September 1st.
Running from 11am to 5pm at the Traveller’s Friend Hotel, the shindig features contributions from Hugh Murray (Sony Music), Leslie Dowdall (Songwriter/Performer), Johnny Lappin (Music Publisher), David Dwane (Western People), Niamh Burkeneff (Publicist), Chris Carroll (Mid West Radio), Pete Holidai (2FM Producer), Jackie Hayden (hotpress), Brian McDonagh (Dervish) and Aiden Lambert (Manager & Record Company Boss).

LETTERKENNY’S AN
GRIANAN Theatre becomes céile central next week as Mary McPartland’s Between The Jigs & The Reels receives its world premiere.
Running from August 24th to 28th, the star-studded trad line-up features Mairtin O Connor, Cathal Hayden, Paddy Glackin, Maighread Ni Dhomhnaill, Triona Ni Dhomhnaill, Tommy Hayes, Gary O Briain, Michéal O Domhnaill, Moya Cannon, Kathleen Bradley and Paul Meade.
NOT CONTENT WITH being the hippest name to drop at the moment in California, The Pattern open their Dublin account with a September 6th visit to Shelter @ Vicar St.
A glorious amalgam of Black Flag, Richard Hell, MC5 and The Creation, they’ll be previewing their soon-to-be-released debut album.
Also upcoming at the Liberties venue on August 28th are Murder City Devils, the Washington DC power poppers whose own Thelma opus has been causing major ripples in the States.
