Shenanigans
A fine collection of musical mischief, fluffed out with truck loads of bass, kick drum and shoutiness
Although we haven’t heard any new material from Billie Joe, Tre and Mike since 2000’s Warning (which is, quite frankly, too fucking long ago) this 14 track gem of a record gives Green Day’s B side collection a good airing, featuring rarities from the Dookie era as well as a couple of covers (namely the Ramones ‘Outsider’ and The Kinks ‘Tired Of Waiting For You’) and even an outtake or two of them smashing stuff up.
Although not recommended for the mild fan, Shenanigans is an absolute essential for any discerning Green Day anorak – a fine collection of musical mischief, fluffed out with truck loads of bass, kick drum and shoutiness. And as if it couldn’t get any better, all the “never heard that before” bits will really impress your mates. Result.
