Sam Smith breaks US Billboard records
The British singer makes his US debut at no. 2.
British Soul Artist Sam Smith has broken US sales records despite failing to gain top spot on the chart. The artists debut album entered at the Billboard charts at no.2 selling an unprecedented 166,000 copies within it's first week of of release, only to be narrowly defeated by Lana Del Ray's Ultraviolence. Not only has he made history as a UK male artist in the US but his recent hit single 'Stay With Me' has broken the one million sales mark! The artists burgeoning popularity across the pond has resulted in a sold out North American tour starting in September.
He's currently being featured as this months MTV 'Artist To Watch'. After previously winning the Critic's Choice award at the Brits along with gaining the title of BBC's Sound of 2014.
