Sacrilege
The hook on 'Sacrilege', the first taster from Yeah Yeah Yeahs' forthcoming Mosquito album, is barely a hook at all, as champion wailer Karen O reins in her possessed shrieking to repeat the words, 'It's sacrilege' at breakneck speed in an unprecedented breathy croon. Yet, somehow, by the end of the song, a throaty gospel choir has turned this part of the song into the finest pop hosanna since Drake's 'Lord Knows'. All in all, it's a fiendishly cunning move by O, Zinner and Chase, who previewed the track by insisting it was "extremely lo-fi".
