Kicking off a new week on the Hot Press Lockdown Sessions' Y&E Series, we're delighted to present Ryan O'Shaughnessy as our next act – going live on the Hot Press Instagram at 8.30pm tonight!

After topping the charts in 2012 with his self-titled debut album, Ryan O'Shaughnessy set up his own label and studio, Bayview Records – and currently writes and produces for artists worldwide. He also represented Ireland at the 2018 Eurovision in Portugal, and has used his platform to raise awareness for LGBTQ rights.

The new edition of the Y&E Series continues to shine a light on some of the best new and emerging talent that Ireland has to offer in 2020. Following the success of the previous edition of the series, you can once again expect 40 brilliant acts to join Hot Press on Instagram for special live-streamed performances, thanks to the support of the Department of Media, Tourism, Arts, Culture, Sport and the Gaeltacht.

With the immediate future of the live music industry remaining uncertain in the face of the global Covid-19 pandemic, the Y&E Series aims to support Ireland's remarkable new generation of artists by delivering 40 paid gigs to 40 acts over 40 days.

September 8: SIVE
Over the course of her career, SIVE has shared stages with the likes of Lisa Hannigan, Cathy Davey, Mick Flannery and Christy Moore – before joining forces with artist-led collective Veta in 2018, and exploring thrilling new directions in her sound with co-producer Matt Harris.

September 9: JOSHUA BURNSIDE
Since experimental folk artist Joshua Burnside released his award-winning debut album Ephrata in 2017, he has used post-punk and electronic recording methods to push the boundaries of the genre. His highly anticipated sophomore album, Into The Depths Of Hell, was released on Friday.

September 10: JC STEWART
With two million monthly listeners on Spotify, an appearance on Good Morning America, and co-writing credits for Lewis Capaldi under his belt, JC Stewart has rapidly become one of Ireland's most exciting pop exports of recent memory. He has continued to build his growing momentum during lockdown – with the release of his new single 'I Need You To Hate Me'.

September 11: NATHAN MAC
A compelling new presence on the homegrown indie-pop scene, former circus performer Nathan Mac has launched his career with the first two instalments of his Start Of Something Blue project – which is set to feature over 24 collaborators, including musicians, photographers, illustrators, directors, performers and more.

September 12: EVANS JUNIOR

Tipped as one of our 'Hot For 2019' acts, Nigerian-born artist Evan Junior has emerged as one of the most compelling talents in the Irish hip-hop boom. Following the release of his acclaimed Organised Mess project in 2019, he continues to build up his ever-growing following with 'Know Better', 'Party' and 'Long Run'.

September 13: CHERYM
Since bursting onto the scene with their 2018 release 'Take It Back', Derry pop-punk trio Cherym have won fans everywhere from Belfast to Berlin. As well as plenty of airplay from the BBC and RTÉ, the band picked up the Oh Yeah Contender Award at the NI Music Prize last year.
