Jordan O'Keefe announces performance on open-top bus through Dublin
The performance will travel through landmarks such as St. Stephen's Green and O'Connell Street.
Jordan O’Keefe has announced that he will perform on an open-top bus tour through Dublin city centre today, July 31.
The performance celebrates History, a four-track EP that details O’Keefe’s struggle with addiction, which was released July 24.
After two years busking on Dublin’s streets, O’Keefe and his band will perform atop an open-top bus traveling through landmarks such as St. Stephen’s Green and O’Connell Street.
“Dublin gave me a place to perform when I was still trying to find my way as an artist,” O’Keefe said. “I spent two years busking on these streets, so bringing the music back into the city from the top of an open-top bus feels like a real full-circle moment.”
The independent singer-songwriter from Derry first rose to fame as a finalist on Britain’s Got Talent in 2013 when his cover of One Direction’s ‘Little Things’ amassed over 15 million views on YouTube. He finished 6th in the competition and performed a duet of ‘Give Me Love’ with Ed Sheeran.
After leaving the show, he played two sold-out nights at The Oh Yeah Centre in Belfast, performed at Manchester Pride and Dartford Festival, supported JLS in Newry Football stadium to a crowd of over 2000 and toured the UK twice.
In April he returned to the stage with an intimate gig at Dublin’s Pepper Canister Church.
In 2020 O’Keefe performed on the Hot Press Lockdown Sessions Y&E series.
“O’Keefe’s sincerity in his live performance was beautiful and uplifting, a clear sign that he’s destined for more success,” Hot Press wrote of the performance.
