Runabay’s Debut Album Between the Lines Set For Release On June 7
The album follows the success of the group’s recent singles ‘Dig’, ‘Blink of an Eye’ and ‘Symmetry’, all of which have merited Runabay great success on Irish and UK radio waves and features the inimitable Irish poet Stephen James Smith.
The collection of songs that make up Runabay’s debut album are rich in soundscape, melody and authenticity, with many tracks taking influence from the rugged shoreline where the band grew up.
Between the Lines features the craftsmanship and spoken word genius of Dublin beat poet Stephen James Smith, who adds a heightened level of intensity and class to the soundscape. The album also features the superb talents of the Arco String Quartet, who have featured on SOAK and Foy Vance albums.
Taking influence from a broad range of artists, from The Olllam to Radiohead, Runabay have established an informed and modified sound. Between the Lines brings together shades of folk, electronic and experimentation to create harmony, honesty and atmosphere.
“The album’s title, Between the Lines, conveys the thread through which this album has been sculpted and tied together. From the innocence of youth, to adulthood in this modern society, Between the Lines is an exploration into theory and the understanding of emotion and action through introspection. The album is reflective, expansive, and thoughtful.”
Runabay are set to play dates at Vantastival Festival in Louth on May 31, and Dalriada Festival in Antrim on July 14.
