RTÉ will air benefit concert curated by Lady Gaga
RTÉ will air a special Gaga-curated benefit concert, that will feature a star-studded line-up of musical guests to mark and celebrate health workers around the world, taking place on April 18.
Gaga has teamed up with Global Citizen and the World Health Organisation to bring us One World: Together at Home in support of frontline workers involved in the coronavirus pandemic.
RTÉ will show an adapted version of the concert, with the full details of the broadcast yet to be announced.
The impressive musical line-up for the show includes Gaga, Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas, Lizzo, J Balvin, Stevie Wonder, Paul McCartney, Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, Alanis Morissette, Burna Boy, Andrea Bocelli, Chris Martin of Coldplay, Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam, Elton John, John Legend, Kacey Musgraves, Keith Urban and Lang Lang.
Chat show hosts Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert will team up to host the event.
The special show will also feature stories from the world's healthcare heroes battling the spread of the coronavirus.
Lady Gaga explained the concept in more detail during a recent chat on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
She said: "This show is not going to be a fundraiser."
Lady Gaga has collected a total of 35 million dollars, thanks to a phone call with Tim Cook, CEO of Apple. He donated 10 million dollars that will be used to purchase medical equipment. Gaga added that they will continue fundraising before the show.
"So when you guys introduce the whole special, you can tell everyone to put your wallets away, put your money away, we don't need it because we raised the money already."
"I'm very excited for them to just watch and enjoy the show."
