Rossa O'Snodaigh's Electric Reels kicks off tonight
Kila's Rossa O'Snodaigh presents a radical new take on trad
Still looking for somewhere to channel your post-Bank Holiday Weekend blues?
Kicking off tonight at Dublin's Project Arts Centre, Rossa Ó Snodaigh presents Electric Reels.
This unique musical collaboration sees the wild man of Kila assembling a cast of multi-talented Trad musicians - and offering them a license to flout every "traditional" convention.
Participating artists include Peter Brown (button accordion virtuoso with jazz leanings), Meav (ethereal songstress singing as Gaeilge agus Béarla), Pete Pamf, Mark Farley, Brian Fleming (uileann pipes, percussion and funk guitar trio with warps, raps, loops and pedals), and Eammon Sweeny (17th-century 12-string classical guitar interpretations of Irish melodies).
Performances will take place nightly from August 4 to 7, with doors opening at 7.30pm. Tickets can be purchased at the venue for €15.
