Rosalía makes surprise appearance at Palestine Benefit concert

Rosalía made a surprise performance at a Palestine benefit concert in Barcelona.

Last night, at the Concert-Manifest x Palestina fundraiser in Barcelona, the Spanish singer surprised fans with a performance of her 'La Perla', a song from her newly released album LUX. The show also featured performances from Bad Gyal, Tinariwen and Amaia, among others.

Previously, fans have been disappointed with Rosalía's lack of comment on the ongoing genocide in Palestine, with Spanish fashion designer Miguel Adrover calling the singer out for not speaking up, and stating that for this reason he would not work with her in the future. In a social media post, he labelled her silence as "complicity".

The singer responded to Adrover's statements with a two-part Instagram story.

"The fact that I have not used my platform in line with other people’s style or expectations does not mean that I do not condemn what is happening in Palestine...," she said. "I do not see how shaming each other is the best way to move forward in the fight for Palestinian freedom."
