Ronan Keating to star in Once
Boyzone man to assume lead role in West End production
Ronan Keating will assume the lead role in the West End production of Once.
Recently seen as a judge on the Australian X Factor, the Dubliner will play Guy in the stage adaptation of the Oscar winning film.
Speaking to The Guardian, Keating admitted: “A musical is never something I thought I’d do. But it was the combination of great dialogue from playwright Enda Walsh and great songs. I just fell in love with it."
While acknowledging that there is a certain level of trepidation linked with treading the boards, Keating is still excited by the prospect of performing 8 times a week from November 17. "I have to say that I’m very anxious about the whole thing. I’m not doing Once to prove that I’m worldly or cultured. I just love the role.”
