RÓIS and Rory Sweeney have released the music for their collaborative track 'As Old As Time Itself'.
The experimental-electronic musicians originally released the track this past May with the song appearing on Sweeney's 2025 album Old Earth. The two additionally worked together on 'Entrance Places', which also features on the album.
"The song itself was written after 3 month my obsession with Black Holes, and I tried to write something that was incredibly confusing and then incredibly violent, as a way of reflecting the extraordinary violence in the universe (state of me)," said Sweeney. "I think I was obsessing a lot over my own death and the death of a universe whilst in a deep depression years ago, and the song was a kind of a cathartic release of that feeling."
The video was directed and animated by Pat McCarthy in collaboration with Diarmuid Farrell. Sweeney stated the visuals were inspired by "lockdown era apocalypse conspiracies" as well as the artwork of American commercial artist David Dees.
