Roger Daltrey is coming to Marlay Park
The legendary Who frontman will perform Tommy in its entirety
News just in that lead singer of The Who (and sometime trout farmer) Roger Daltrey is coming to Marlay Park on July 26. Rather than a run-of-the-mill greatest hits show (though he's promising to stick those in too) Daltrey plans to play his band's acclaimed 1969 concept album Tommy from start to finish.
So those lucky enough to attend will get to hear the full story of that blind, deaf and dumb kid who sure played a mean pinball. Okay, naff storyline, but the tunes are great.
Daltrey premiered the show at The Royal Albert Hall in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust on March 25 - a bit of a first, as the band themselves never performed the entire album over the course of their career.
Simon Townshend, younger brother of Pete, will take up guitar duties.
Tickets for the concert priced from €39.50 including booking fee will go on sale Thursday May 12 at 9.00am.
