Rival Schools announce UK and Ireland tour
Tickets are on sale now.
Post-hardcore band Rival Schools have announced dates for their upcoming UK and Ireland tour. Six shows have been lined up for the tour, with the first gig in Whelan’s, Dublin on May 1.
Walter Schreifels of Quicksand formed the supergroup with Sam Siegler of CIV, Cache Tolman of Iceburn and Ian Love in 1999. They debuted in August 2001 with the album United By Fate. The group disbanded before reuniting in 2008, releasing two more records over five years- Pedals and Found.
In 2022 Rival Schools began touring again to celebrate the 20th anniversary of United By Fate.
“It’s great,” Schreifels said about performing live. “When we were touring behind United By Fate, we were doing it professionally, trying to make it in some way, and there’s a lot of intensity in that. Now, we’re doing it because we really enjoy it and want to be with each other and get into it. So because of that chillness, we just have a lot of laughs. Our chemistry has been there for a long time.”
Rival School’s UK and Ireland tour will kick off in Dublin before moving on to Manchester, Glasgow and Leeds. Finally, they will play as the supporting act in London’s Royal Albert Hall for Hundred Reasons' 25th anniversary concert.
Tickets for the Dublin show are on sale now, and you can see the full tour schedule here.
