The band's former drummer has lost his battle with cancer.
Some more very sad news with the passing on Friday of former Crowded House drummer Peter Jones. He was 45 and had been suffering from brain cancer.
“We are in mourning today for the death of Peter Jones,” reads an official band communiqué. “We remember him as a warm hearted, funny and talented man, who was a valuable member of Crowded House. He played with style and spirit. We salute him and send our love and best thoughts to his family and friends.”
Jones took over in 1994 from original Crowded House drummer Paul Hester who himself died in 2005.
He spent two years touring and recording with the group prior to their break-up. Afterwards he played alongside fellow bandmate Nick Seymour in Deadstar, but wasn’t part of the line-up when Crowded House eventually reformed in 2006.
