R. Kelly gives his response to the rumours that he's playing Trump's inauguration
"End. Of. Story." the rapper tweeted late last night.
Amid rumours that he's playing at Trump's inauguration, R. Kelly finally released a statement via Twitter that put all the gossip to rest. He shared a photo of a statement on twitter that read “Despite the rumors circulating online, R. Kelly will not be performing at this year’s inauguration ceremony. Any reports stating otherwise are simply untrue.”
"End. Of. Story." R. Kelly tweeted along with the picture.
With the inauguration rapidly approaching, only teenage singer Jackie Evancho has been confirmed to be performing. Evancho insisted that her choice to play at the inauguration was not politically motivated, rather, she says she is doing it "for my country."
The task of finding other notable performers for the event has proven to be a tough one, as Rebecca Ferguson and Charlotte Church both publicly refused the job offer, with Church calling Trump a "tyrant." Event planner Tom Barrack insists that the inauguration will have a a “soft sensuality” and “poetic cadence” instead of “A-listers," though we're not sure we want to see what soft sensuality and poetic cadence look like in the context of a Trump inauguration.
