The Saw Doctors add extra Mayo show due to high demand

The Saw Doctors have announced that they will play a second show in Mayo, due to high demand. They are now set to play the TF Royal Hotel and Theatre in Castlebar on September 5, in addition to their original September 4 show.

The demand comes after a resurgence of the band's song 'Green and Red of Mayo', following Mayo's win in the All-Ireland Final.

The band has previously expressed gratitude for their song becoming the unofficial anthem of County Mayo.

The song originates from The Saw Doctors' first trip to Clare Island in 1990, when from the distance they saw the green and red landscape.

The Saw Doctors' album To Win Just Once - The Best of the Saw Doctors, reached No.1 on the Independent Albums Chart last month. The classic album, released in 2010, features hit songs 'Green and Red of Mayo,' 'N17' and 'I Useta Lover', which spent nine weeks at No.1 on the Irish Singles Chart.

The Saw Doctors will be playing at Electric Picnic 2026, after completing a UK and Ireland tour, and headlining at Féile an Phobail.

A new music show based on The Saw Doctors' music and story is also set to take stage. Shamtown will run at the Mick Lally Theatre in Galway, from November 15-29.

Tickets for The Saw Doctors will go on sale on Friday 14.
