PREMIERE: The Zang announces new album with video for new single 'International Man of Misery'
The rising Belfast artist is back with the follow-up to his 2020 debut release.
Up-and-coming Northern Irish musician, The Zang, has announced a new album with a fresh new single, 'International Man of Misery'.
The follow-up to the 2020 self-titled record from the indie Belfast artist (real name Chris Molloy), will be called The Point of No Return and will hit record stores and streaming services on August 10 of this year.
Chris describes the album as a "self-contained project" that will genre hop, containing "all shades of indie, alt-rock, pop and beyond."
He offers up a melancholic viewpoint on the atmospheric 'International Man of Misery', singing over distorted guitars and a slow-burning drum beat that builds to an elegant finish.
A music video for the track will premiere at 12 pm today on The Zang's Youtube channel. Watch below:
Hot Press premiered his lauded track 'Football Sundays' last July. The song explored his love of the sport from an early age.
"You do see an ugly side to football too though," Chris says. "Sectarianism, racism, homophobia, sexism. You can turn on the news and you're never too far away from racism and violence in sport. We wanted this song to bring people together rather than create divides... Whether we're from different communities, backgrounds, nationalities, when it comes down to it it's all about the right attitude and a simple love for the game."
