Get an exclusive first look at the new video from the Irish songwriter and multi-instrumentalist below.
Following the release of his single 'Mexican Beauty In Red' earlier this month, Seán Finn returns with the track's innovative new music video – premiering below.
Drawing inspiration from a wide range of artists, including the likes of Cole Porter, David Bowie, The Beatles and Mac DeMarco, the Irish songwriter and multi-instrumentalist has crafted a sound the blurs the boundaries between pop and jazz. 'Mexican Beauty In Red' is the first song to be released from his upcoming project, Pencil Regret – which consists of 11 songs written before and during the pandemic.
Seán reveals that his new single was particularly inspired by Antônio Carlos Jobim, after he read a biography about the iconic Brazilian musician.
"I fell in love with his music and studied some of his most famous pieces," Seán says. "In particular, his song ‘Triste’ inspired my new single. I sat down at the piano and decided to try and write a bossa nova song as a challenge, just to see if I could do it. I didn’t believe that it was something people would like, but the more people I sent it to, the more people thought it was good, so I decided to release it as my next single."
With 'Mexican Beauty In Red', Seán Finn brings a unique new energy and a sound to the Irish scene – giving us a taste of what to expect from his upcoming Pencil In Regret.
