PREMIERE: Lola Young explores her new album I'm Only F**cking Myself track by track with Universal Music
The new album is out today
To celebrate the release of her new album I'm Only F**cking Myself, out today, Lola Young collaborates with Universal Music to explore the record track by track in a new video.
Produced by her longtime collaborators Manuka and SOLOMONOPHONIC (known for work with Doja Cat and SZA), Young described the upcoming project on social media as “my ode to self-sabotage, my chance to claw myself back from the edge of defeat.”
The release follows her 2024 debut album This Wasn’t Meant For You Anyway, which featured the breakout viral hit ‘Messy’.
In the new interview, Young discusses each track off the new album, from their source of inspiration, their deeper meaning, and their links to her personal experiences with drugs, addiction, sexual and romantic relationships, friendship and introspection.
The video also includes footage from the album’s recording session, conversations with friends, concert backstages, as well as music videos.
Young is the recipient of the Rising Star accolade at this year’s Ivor Novello Awards, following her Best Pop Act nomination at this year’s BRIT Awards. She has since collaborated with Tyler, The Creator, and Lil Yachty.
Following her debut appearance at Coachella earlier this year, Young opened for Billie Eilish in Paris during her Hit Me Hard and Soft headline tour and completed an exciting UK and European Summer festival run, including Glastonbury, Lollapalooza paris and more.
