PREMIERE: Let's Set Sail share synth-focused 'Toledo'

Since the group's inception in 2016, Let’s Set Sail have been going from strength to strength. Beginning as a songwriting project between two people, the band gradually evolved into a dreamy alternative quartet. Hot Press is proud to premiere their latest offering, 'Toledo'.

A unique blend of ambient electronica with a distinctly indie vocal edge, 'Toledo' is "a slow-building, synth-heavy tune that expands over 8 minutes to a climax of passionate noise and beautiful trumpet," the band explain. "Its pulsating chords and kick drum create a driving backbone for its story to unfold.

"The lyrics follow a clear timeline of an early morning journey from Dublin to Toledo, Spain.

"Many of the components of Toledo were written and recorded during lockdown, when we couldn’t actually rehearse together," they continue. "As the song started to take shape and we could hear what it would end up like, we felt quite strongly that this should be the first single off our new EP. It has similarities with our earlier stuff, but we think it’s our most ambitious work to date. It’s a lovely thing to be putting out new music after a period when we’ve been missing it so much."
