Phoebe Bridgers got "teary" recording her part for Taylor Swift's new version of Red
Bridgers will feature on the previously unheard track from Swift, 'Nothing New'.
Phoebe Bridgers has said that she got emotional recording her feature for Taylor Swift's upcoming re-recording of her album Red.
The 'Kyoto' and 'Smoke Signals' singer will appear on the track 'Nothing New', a song that didn't make the cut on the original record.
"It’s just been a dream," Bridgers told the American magazine Billboard.
"I just am so excited to have people take it at face value the day that it comes out, because I got teary recording it. I just couldn’t be more excited."
Taylor Swift is currently in the process of re-recording and releasing her first six albums after the masters' rights to these releases were bought by businessman and manager of Justin Bieber, Scooter Braun, from her former record label.
"It's really inspiring for me and a lot of musicians," Bridgers said of Swift's re-recording project.
"I think a lot of people make a couple of records and are like, ‘Oh wow, I hit the top, I’m great now,’ and the fact that she just has always wanted more from the world fuck like, “No, no, no, fuck you, I’m going to make it again, I’m going to make it better, and it’s going to belong to me' is the coolest."
Bridgers will appear alongside Gary Lightbody, Ed Sheeran and Chris Stapleton on Red (Taylor's Version), released tomorrow, November 12.
