Philip Donnelly and John Prine set for Kilkenny
The SET Theatre will be the venue for a special public interview...
It’s two alt. country legends for the price of one on July 15 when Clontarf Cowboy Philip Donnelly conducts a public interview with John Prine, the man responsible for such gems as ‘Sound At The Speed On Loneliness’, ‘Spanish Pipedream’, ‘Hello In There’ and ‘The Missing Years’.
Taking place in Kilkenny’s SET Theatre, it will be punctuated with lots of guitar picking.
“John Prine is the ‘songwriters’ songwriter,” Donnelly says. “Bob Dylan namechecks him as a favourite and his music is regarded as an integral part of American culture. I spent many years on the road with John in America where we played in 48 states together; I've recorded three albums and co-written with him over the years. In all our years of playing stadiums, festivals and large theatres I never thought I'd get to play such a unique and intimate venue as the SET Theatre for his Irish fans. We're both really looking forward to this special show.”
Tickets are €25.
