Paul Weller to play Bundoran festival date

Hot Press has learned that Paul Weller is to play a headline show as part of this year’s Sea Sessions, which take place in Bundoran from June 25 to 27. The only act to be officially confirmed so far are the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, a Chicago-dwelling nine-piece who make the most joyous of rackets.

Meanwhile, we’ve managed to cop a pre-release listen to Weller’s upcoming Wake Up The Nation album, and can report that it’s among the best things he’s ever done. The money track is ‘No Tears To Cry’, a “definite nod to the Walker Brothers and those epic ballads”, which features 72-year-old Tornadoes man Clem Cattini on drums.
