Paramore to return after five years with new single 'This Is Why'
Since 2017's After Laughter, Paramore singer Hayley Williams has released two solo records: 2020’s Petals for Armor and 2021’s Flowers for Vases / Descansos.
US pop/rock band Paramore have announced their new single, 'This Is Why', due to land on September 28th. This is their first release since their fifth studio album After Laughter in 2017.
Prior to today's announcement, the trio made up of Hayley Williams, Zac Farro and Taylor York have been teasing their new era cryptically on social media. They all updated their profile photos and deleted their Instagram posts besides their tour announcements- leaving fans to speculate wildly. Last week, a snippet of the song was posted both on the band's Discord channel and on TikTok.
The single will come out just in time for the band to head out on their North American headline tour beginning on October 2nd.

Hayley Williams revealed that the band was working on their sixth album back in January, stating that it would not be a "comeback 'emo' record." "I’m always waiting for the moment for us to know we’re onto something new and we’re not just rehashing the same shit. It’s not about it feeling like a hit so much as it’s a scary, exciting feeling that you’re treading uncharted waters. It keeps you curious. We got to feel that feeling early on this time," she told Rolling Stone.
