Paramore and Hayley Williams join No Music for Genocide boycott of Israel
Other artists listed by No Music for Genocide include KNEECAP, Fontaines D.C., Massive Attack, The Mary Wallopers, Björk and Faye Webster.
Paramore and Hayley Williams have joined the over 400 artists and labels pledging to remove their music from streaming services in Israel as part of the No Music for Genocide movement.
No Music for Genocide describes itself as a "cultural boycott" in response to Israel's treatment of Palestinians, widespread censorship of those who speak out for Gaza and the music industry's ties to the Israeli military.
They encourage all interested artists and labels to join them in geo-blocking and removing their music from streaming services in Israel.
Other artists listed by No Music for Genocide include KNEECAP, Fontaines D.C., Massive Attack, Björk, Faye Webster, Primal Scream, The Mary Wallopers, Black Country, New Road, Japanese Breakfast, Rina Sawayama, HorsegiirL, King Krule, Mogwai and Amyl and The Sniffers.
While No Music For Genocide wrote that it can take between 24 hours to seven days after a distributor initiates the process for music to be officially removed from Israel, some social media users claim it has already been successful.
One Israeli user on X said of Paramore, "their albums don’t appear on their page anymore" and the "same goes" for Williams' recent solo album Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party, which "doesn’t show up on Hayley’s page."
Other fans have praised the musicians, with one X user posting a screenshot of the No Music For Genocide list and writing, "They are constantly doing the work to be better humans and on the right side of history."
"It makes me proud to know where their morals stand, the silence from most artists can be disheartening," the post read.

"Don’t ever forget that history has shown over and over again that mobilizations work, boycotts work—pressure works," said another post.
"Kudos to Paramore and all the artists on that list for showing the way."
While neither Paramore nor frontwoman Williams have spoken publicly about joining the campain at the time of writing, Paramore called for donations to aid organisations for Gaza in May 2024.
The band also expressed support for the Doctors Without Borders Emergency Fund and Save the Children campaign, and last September, they collaborated with fashion designer Bug Girl to produce a merchandise line with all proceeds going to Medical Aid for Palestinians.
The news comes after Paramore lead guitarist Taylor York shared his first Instagram post in over a year today.
The post pictures a green cartoon diver character, reminiscent of the Wes Anderson film The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. One of the tracks on Williams' Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party was titled 'Zissou'.
Amid the band's indefinite hiatus (which Williams has said is not a breakup) it has sparked whispers of a potential return to music.
