Oxegen's Green Room set for greener heights
Better late than never: Belle and Sebastian and God Is An Astronaut are the latest additions to the Oxegen line-up
Like you need any more reason to attend the so-hot-you're-gasping-for-Oxegen festival this summer, Belle and Sebastian has just been confirmed for the bill.
This will be the first opportunity for Irish fans to catch a live and, suitably al fresco, airing of their delightful Dear Catastrophe Waitress album. The Scottish seven-piece are scheduled to play the Green Room stage on Saturday 10 July, joining Orbital, Elbow, Electric Six and local talents Simple Kid and Autamata.
And speaking of Irish representation, Dublin brothers Niels and Torsten Kinsella - aka God Is An Astronaut (right) - have also been added to the Oxegen line-up. With their inspired debut album earning themselves the when-all-else-fails label of 'indietronica', their live set is certain to demonstrate why the album has already sold out in shops two times over.
You can catch them playing the Green Room tent on the Saturday at Oxegen, at 1.20pm. The show will also incorporate their controversial (but only after 9pm) video singles for 'From Dust to the Beyond' and 'The End of the Beginning', which have been causing offense to MTV audiences in the UK, Europe and Israel.
Weekend and single day Oxegen tickets are still available from the usual outlets.
