It appears that the joyous news of Outkast's reunion album will be put on standby for the time being.
The Atlanta duo, Andre 3000 and Big Boi, have been the centre of media attention the past week, after the hip hop legends announced a 40 date worldwide festival tour. Days later, the pioneers made headlines again after their former manager Queen Latifah announced on an American chat show, that the duo were back in the studio working on a new album.
Although Outkast's producer Mr. DJ has speculated the fact that the pair will be releasing a new album, it has been confirmed that it may not be for some time, as both Andre 3000 and Big Boi are focusing on the release of each of their own solo albums first.
Mr. DJ explained in an interview with Revolt that “I get the feeling that the energy and camaraderie from the tour will bring everything full circle, we may make it back in for an album following that."
Fans can expect to see Outkast perform at festivals such as Coachella, Firefly, and Counterpoint this year, as well as the release of both Big Boi's, and Andre 3000's solo albums. Stay with hotpress.com for further updates.
