O'Riordan cleared of false imprisonment charge
Dolores O'Riordan's former nanny, Joy Fahy, is to launch an appeal after substantially failing in her High Court action against the Cranberries singer and her husband, Don Burton
While awarding her damages of €1,500 for the loss of personal belongings, Justice Quirke ruled that Fahy had not proved the other, more serious charges. Of breach of contract and false imprisonment. He also said that "however unpalatable it is", she'll have to pay O'Riordan and Burton's which are estimated at €150,000.
Speaking afterwards to reporters, Fahy said she had no idea how she could raise that sort of money.
