Ollie Cole readies first post-Turn album
Ollie Cole is close to completing his first post-Turn solo album.
“Well trying to but the world continues to conspire against us,” he laughs. “We were due to mix the last batch of songs this week, but a power surge in the studio damaged some of the equipment and put pay to that.
“I don’t mind, it gives me a little more time to make sure I’m completely happy with everything. It’s really hard to stop recording and adding bits. I think it was David Bowie who said, ‘You don’t finish recordings, you abandon them.’ I like that!”
Due for release in early 2008, Cole says that the as-yet-untitled collection will be “a dark one. Very basic, just guitar and vocal, maybe a little piano. I’m also ready to start doing gigs with a band. Well, first I have to make a band! I have some ideas, but you never know until you put people in a room what’s going to happen.”
