Of Monsters And Men talk new material
Songwriter Raggi opens up in the current issue of Hot Press.
They triumphed at Electric Picnic, recently wowed the Olympia, and have stormed charts across the globe with their debut album My Head Is An Animal.
Already, however, Iceland's newest sensation Of Monsters And Men are thinking of new songs.
Ragnar "Raggi" Þórhallsson, who fronts the band and shares lead vocal duties with Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir, caught up with our own Craig Fitzpatrick before their Olympia gig and spoke about their current writing process.
When drummer Arnar Rósenkranz Hilmarsson mentioned that "it would be weird if the two of them were writing a love song together", Raggi revealed:
"We've been trying. It just means that we have to get closer and closer. Be able to tell each other stuff. Which would be a good thing, writing more intimate songs."
Arnar then joked: "Like... the theme song for the next Titanic? Y'know, maybe the ship comes back up and hits another iceberg. Titanic 2!"
In an interview with the two, Of Monsters Of Men also chatted about their incredible rise, new studio and how they've been mistaken for being Irish in the States.
