Odhran Murphy to make Dublin debut this Friday
Tickets for the acclaimed Co. Armagh singer-songwriter's Dublin headliner are on sale now.
After garnering a major online following with his viral covers on TikTok, Odhran Murphy is set to play his first ever Dublin gig at The Sound House, this Friday, October 22.
The intimate show will also find the 22-year-old singer-songwriter launching his lauded new single, 'Alone'.
In addition to his hundreds of thousands of views on TikTok, the Co. Armagh native previously won a Dermot Kennedy Instagram competition with his unique fusion of folk and pop – and has been praised by other internationally renowned artists such as Dean Lewis. His debut gig in Crumlin Road Gaol in Belfast sold out in less than 24 hours.
“I’m absolutely buzzing to be playing in Dublin, meeting fans from the South, who follow me on social media and hopefully attracting a new fan base," Odhran says. "I’m overwhelmed at how many people are travelling from the North to support me too. My full band will be playing for the first time since the pandemic and we’re so excited to create the full sound on stage.
“I’m going to be officially launching my new single 'Alone' at The Sound House," he continues. "'Alone' is basically about someone who is going through a breakup, however they’re uncertain and nervous about how their life is going to be without them. The lyrics ‘if you’re better off alone, don’t think that I’ll be following you home’ reinforce that once you’ve made that difficult decision, there’s no going back. I think most people will resonate with these sentiments and emotions. It’s an upbeat song, though, so nods to a more positive, happy future.”
Tickets are €12. See Ticketmaster for more information.
