Oasis release ‘Slide Away’ live recording from Cardiff opening night
The song is originally from their 1994 debut album Definitely Maybe, written by lead guitarist Noel Gallagher.
‘Slide Away’, recorded live in Cardiff at the first night of Oasis Live ’25 world tour, has been released.
The gig marks the first time the Britpop duo had performed live together in 16 years.
Oasis made their highly anticipated comeback gig at Principality Stadium on July 4, where they played to over 75,000 people.
‘Slide Away’ was sixteenth on the night's setlist, slotted in between ‘Cast No Shadow’ and ‘Whatever’.
Noel had originally written the track about his relationship at the time with his former girlfriend Louise Jones.
He previously described them as "soulmates", and when the pair split up in June 1994, Noel said, "I don't think I'll ever get over it."
Oasis are due to hit the stage next tomorrow night at Manchester's Heaton Park for five sold-out shows.
The pair are then set to play seven nights at London’s Wembley Stadium, followed by Edinburgh, before playing Dublin on August 16 and 17.
You can listen to the 'Slide Away' (Live from Cardiff, 4 July 2025) here.
