Newton Faulkner has announced a new album OCTOPUS, set for release on September 19, 2025, via Cooking Vinyl Records.
Working from his home studio in East London, the British singer-songwriter's set the direction for his eighth studio album in November 2024, when he cut his dreadlocks during the finale of his tour at London's Islington Assembly Hall.
"I felt like my hair was tying me to the past," said Faulkner. "The guy that sang 'Dream Catch Me' from under a large pile of hair is a distant memory and has been for a while.
"This is about letting go, there is no part of this record that is trying to recreate anywhere I've been before, however well it might have gone," he added. "This is me, this is my head, this is what I love."
OCTOPUS will be released ahead of the singer-songwriter's just announced 2025 UK/Ireland tour, which will see him play Belfast's Limelight 1 in November 13, Dublin's Ambassador Theatre on November 15, and Cork's Cyprus Avenue in November 16.

Faulkner has also released the LP's lead single 'Alright Alright Alright', featuring Ukrainian duo The Bloom Twins.
"I was in the studio having more fun than anyone should be allowed to have at work and I didn't give a f*ck what anyone would think of the track," said the artist. "The fact that it is now the first single of my eighth studio album is mind blowing to me."
Hitting No.1 in the UK with his 2007 debut LP Hand Built by Robots, Newton Faulkner has released seven studio albums to date.
He has toured extensively across the UK and performed at major festivals, such as Glastonbury and Chicago’s Lollapalooza. Faulkner has also ventured into theatre, starring as Johnny in the West End production of the Green Day-inspired musical American Idiot
