New Order mark World Mental Health day by collaborating with CALM on new video
Marking World Suicide Prevention Day, the video was shared across both the charity and the bands social media platforms.
New Order have shared a new film by non-profit organisation Campaign Against Living Miserably. The band are ambassadors for the charity with their song ‘Your Silent Face’ as the soundtrack to the moving video.
Marking World Mental Health Day (October 10), the video was shared across both the charity and the bands social media platforms.
The film features emotive dialogue, "I probably came across as always really happy, but there were thoughts in the back of my head that I never shared with anyone. It took me every ounce of strength that I had left to pick up the phone and call the CALM helpline,” says a man in the clip. "They saved my life. By just talking about it, it made it feel so much better. I know there are people out there who feel like they can’t go on, but there is a life on the other side.”

The issue is particularly close to the band's heart, following the death former Joy Division bandmate Ian Curtis. In May 1980 Curtis took his own life after suffering from depression and epilepsy in his final years.
New Order have worked with the charity previously in 2024, releasing exclusive Blue Monday t-shirts with profits going towards the organisation. The t-shirt featured designs by designer Peter Saville who created album artwork and record sleeves for both Joy Division and New Order.
