New Nirvana box-set to support Love's legal fund
Whatever about Courtney Love, Nirvana fans will be pleased to hear news of a CD and DVD box set, due for release next month
It's an ill wind that blows good rock 'n' roll fortune with Courtney Love's legal difficulties believed to be behind her decision to sanction a Nirvana box-set which will be released here on November 22.
As her brushes with the law stack up – Kurt's ex currently stands accused of assault and the illegal possession of painkillers – so do her debts with a California travel firm claiming last week that she owes them $50,000 in unpaid bills. Love is also being pursued by her New York landlord for back charges on her luxury SoHo appartment, and by Los Angeles County for $37,477 in unemployment insurance taxes on her personal employees.
According to a record company source, the With The Lights Out box-set will comprise of 40 tracks spread across three audio CDs and a DVD featuring live and documentary footage.
Along with alternative versions of Nirvana classics, the package is likely to include a number of songs that have previously only been available on the Outcesticide bootleg series.
