New Nick Kelly solo album in gestation

The much-anticipated follow-up to 2005's Running Dog will be the product of a project Kelly calls Gestation and will be based on nine special live shows.

Kelly says each show will see him create a bunch of new songs with different musical collaborators, to be posted on www.nickkelly.ie for all to hear and comment on.

As he explained to Hot Press, "Around month seven I'll go into the studio with the collective wisdom I've amassed, and month nine's show (May 2010) will be a launch party for the new album created with maximum interaction from interested members of the public."

Kelly's first show takes place on September 30 upstairs in Whelan's, Dublin with guest collaborator Ann Scott.
