National Student Music Awards: Time's nearly up!
If you haven't got your entry for the National Student Music Awards in yet, get cracking - the deadline is just days away!
The NSMAs have seen previous winners go on to achieve immense success as recording artists. 2005 winners Delorentos have had a top ten debut album and most recently have been nominated for the Choice Music Prize.
A panel of industry experts will pick twelve of the best demos received to perform at three heats around the country in Dublin (UCD) on March 6, Galway (NUIG) on March 13 and Cork (Cyprus Avenue) on March 19.
The heat winner will then go head-to-head at the national final in the Village, Dublin on March 24, where the Flaws will be the headline act on the night.
The prize up for grabs includes everything that promising young band lusts after: extensive recording time at Religion Music Studios, Dublin, a cash prize from IMRO, CD duplication from Easy
Duplication, rehearsal time at The Rehearsal Rooms, a consultation with music lawyer Edward Traynor and a photography session with Ian Oliver of Letcombe Photography.
Entries are open to any band with at least one member in full-time third-level education. Demos should be sent to NSMA, Suite 49, Lower Rathmines Road, Dublin 6 before February 12.
