Mondo Generator for Dublin
Ex-Queen of the Stone Ager Nick Oliveri brings his new band to the Temple Bar Music Centre in August
The Temple Bar Music Centre becomes Moshpit Central on August 25 when former Queens Of The Stone Age man Nick Oliveri rock 'n' rolls into town with Mondo Generator.
Talking about his unceremonious departure from the QOTSA ranks, Oliveri says: "I was fired and Mark Lanegan decided to cut from the Queens and focus on his solo project. A pure idea has been polluted. The concept was simple – a band, selfless, mindless, ego-free, unprotected, about danger, sex and no bullshit rock 'n' roll. It's crazy the band of no rules now has fucking rules. I want people to know because I'm not a fucking flake and I didn't quit."
Along with the current Mondo Generator offering, A Drug Problem That Never Existed, Oliveri will also be plugging a solo acoustic album which is released next month.
