Michael Bublé delivers surprise intimate performance at Dublin’s Ruby Sessions
Making a surprise appearance with his a his nine-piece band, Bublé joked, "I can't believe I'm here either . . . I was hoping for Lewis Capaldi."
Michael Bublé surprised fans with an intimate performance at Doyle's Pub on College Street on Friday.
The performance was part of Dublin’s Ruby Sessions, a weekly gig series known for its blind-booking format, where fans purchase tickets to support music without knowing the performers' identities until they walk on stage.
The Canadian singer performed a selection of his hits, including his cover of Olly Murs’ ‘Dance With Me Tonight’ and ‘Heart Skips a Beat’, a cover of Van Morrison's ‘Moondance’, and songs from his forthcoming album.
The Ruby Sessions, which usually takes place every Tuesday, was founded in 1999 by Niall Muckian and Conor Donovan and has become a mainstay of the Dublin music scene, and is highly regarded for its policy of giving exposure to new acts.
Known for promoting emerging talent, the series has also hosted some very famous names over the years, including Ed Sheeran, who played a two-hour set in 2014, Paolo Nutini, Lewis Capaldi, Hozier, and Hot Press’ cover stars for this month, Mumford and Sons.
Following Buble’s shows in Dublin and Limerick last weekend, he will perform at Ormeau Park, Belfast on Wednesday, July.
