Matthew E White comes to Ireland in 2013

Whelan's is already looking ahead to a jam-packed New Year of live music and one of the most exciting early names taking to the hallowed stage is Matthew E White.

The fantastically bearded, Ray Ban-wearing man from Richmond, Virginia, has been causing quite a stir in recent months, earning comparisons to Lambchop and Bon Iver. He also throws in a dash of Curtis Mayfield and Al Green for good measure. To see what all the fuss is about, head to Whelan's on January 27.
