Massive Attack's Robert Del Naja arrested at Palestine Action protest in London
Robert '3D' Del Naja was among the over 500 arrests made at demonstrations in London over the weekend
Massive Attack member Robert Del Naja has been arrested on suspicion of showing support for a proscribed terrorist organisation at a protest against the UK Government's ban on Palestine Action.
Del Naja, also known as 3D, was among hundreds of demonstrators who took to Trafalgar Square in London on Saturday (March 12), where he held up a sign that read “I Oppose Genocide, I Support Palestine Action”. More than 500 people were arrested according to the Met Police.
Supporting Palestine Action became illegal in the UK in July 2025. The ban was ruled unlawful in February, after which the Met Police indicated they were unlikely to continue arresting people for supporting the group. On March 25 however, police said that arrests for supporting Palestine Action would resume.

In a statement shared across his and Massive Attack's social media on Monday, Del Naja spoke on the "total madness" of the situation.
"Everyone also knows that the sheer desperation of 'Palestine Action' activists vandalising military equipment isn't terrorism," he said. "No one actually believes that.
"Many members of, & senior advisers to this government belong to a 'war is peace' ideological party block that ignored millions of peaceful marchers to illegally invade Iraq. Their brand of arrogance & callous indifference creates the human desperation they're hellbent on crushing in the courts.
"The sense of madness can be overcome. We can demand that our government upholds international laws that previous generations sacrificed their lives for. UK citizens will feel less desperation (& our overwhelmed courts will be quieter) if our country acts with the integrity of neighbours such as Spain; calmly declining the use of their territory & assets for illegal US / Israeli war crimes.
"To these vital ends, a few hours in police custody under unlawful arrest is a very small price to pay. Our democracy, & the civil rights & liberties that now sit in constitutional law were literally built on small actions like these. Perhaps that's why this draconian government wants to crush them?"
Massive Attack, the Bristol-formed trip-hop act which currently comprises Grant "Daddy G" Marshall alongside Del Naja, have been been one of the music world's most vocal opponents to the ban. Last year, the group called on Live Nation to cut ties with Israel, pledged to take their own music off streaming services in Israel, and showed their support for KNEECAP as British MPs called for the Irish rappers' slot at Glastonbury to be cancelled.
After the Palestine Action ban was ruled unlawful in February, Massive Attack said that "Keith Starmer's government wanted to punish those who made their complicity in a genocide visible"
