The 1988 song has become an anthem for fans of Irish music, young and old.
Mary Black and The High Kings have announced the release of their rendition of the classic song ‘Past the Point of Rescue’ on November 22.
The song was originally brought to life by Mary in 1988, and now serves as an anthem for Irish music fans of all ages. The new recording takes on a fresh and powerful sound, while Mary’s vocals combine with The High Kings harmonies and instrumental prowess.
Folk artist Mary Black has been a presence in Irish music for the last quarter century, both at home and abroad.
The High Kings are a folk group, formed in Dublin in 2018. Consisting of Finbarr Clancy, Brian Dunphy, Darren Holden, and Paul O’Brien, the band have released five studio albums.
This release marks the first time these artists have collaborated on a record, and coincides with their joint US tour, which begins early next year.
