Mark Knopfler for the Dublin Point
With a new album ready to show off, Mark Knopfler has penned in a 2005 visit to The Point
Fans have a mere eight months to ready themselves for Mark Knopfler's May 20 visit to the Dublin Point.
Tickets priced €56.50 go on sale at 9am on Thursday October 7.
More immediately, aficionados can feast on Knopfler's new studio album, Shangri-La, which takes its name from the legendary Californian studio it was recorded in.
"People like Bob Dylan, Neil Young and The Band used to hang out there," the former Dire Straits man enthuses. "The owner has done a lot to preserve the place and invited me to record there. Old California seemed to go with a pile of the stuff I was doing and some of it rubbed off on the recordings. I found myself in the '60s a fair bit and even earlier influences from when I was small like Lonnie Donegan and The Shadows."
