Marc O'Reilly inks Virgin Records deal
The Irish singer-songwriter's excellent Human Herdings album is set for European release
Marc O'Reilly has signed a deal with Virgin Records. The deal was done with the Berlin office of the company – which is now part of the Universal Music group.
The highly-rated Waterford-born singer-songwriter has already had a busy 2016, having wowed the crowds at Eurosonic in January, and again at the transatlantic showcase Folk Alliance, earlier this month.
Now, he has put pen to paper on a deal which will see his widely praised Human Herdings LP being released across Europe, with an extensive continental jaunt to back it up. This is another major step for O'Reilly, in a career that is beginning to take impressive shape. In July 2015, O'Reilly signed a worldwide publishing deal with Fintage Music, whose other clients include Taylor Swift and Ed Sheehan.
Of course, he's not completely abandoning us; he'll be hitting Whelan's on March 3, followed by a date in Cyprus Avenue in Cork March 5, before heading off on a tour of the UK and Germany – which is becoming a real power base for him, and Holland. The full list of tour dates is as follows:
