Manic Street Preachers announce second 3Olympia gig
Tickets for both dates go on sale on Friday, May 29 at 10 am.
Manic Street Preachers have announced a second headline show at Dublin’s 3Olympia on October 21.
The announcement comes two days after the band announced another gig at the 3Olympia for October 22.
The two shows are standalone performances ahead of their upcoming co-headline UK tour with Suede.
The announcement follows the release of their 15th studio album, Critical Thinking, last year. The record peaked at number one on the Scottish Albums Chart and number two on the UK Albums Chart. The band are also set to perform at the Corona Capital and INmusic Festival.
“Around 30 years ago, the late, lamented Select magazine opined that in the Britpop landscape, Manic Street Preachers and Suede stood apart as two bands who were “a cause – a belief system”, said Hot Press in a performance review of their Trinity Summer Series concert last year. "What would have been the odds that, 30 years later, they’d still be serving the same purpose? […] What an evening – that’s my gig of the year sorted, for sure.”
Manic Street Preachers are made up of vocalist and guitarist James Dean Bradfield, drummer Sean Moore and bassist Nicky Wire. They released their debut album, Generation Terrorists, in 1992.
Manic Street Preachers released their 15th studio album, Critical Thinking, last year.
The tickets will be available on Friday, May 29, at 10 am here.
