Lord Henry Mountcharles confirms that there will be no Slane this year

The respective "Guns N' Roses, AC/DC, Coldplay for Slane" rumours are sadly just that, Hot Press can confirm. An announcement was made earlier today on the Slane Castle Facebook page saying simply: "Lord Henry confirmed today that there will be no show at Slane this year. Slane will return in 2017 when the Slane Distillery is completed."
And that, it seems, is that. But hold your horses, we say, before jumping to any premature conclusions!
There are still several Irish venues that could accommodate all three bands – separately, we hasten to add! – and so, in the immortal words of Journey, don't stop believing...
