Listen to the surprising new Beyonce single!
'Girls' is a dancehall-electro fusion banger!
Bootylicious star Beyonce won't be happy after her new single leaked on to the internet late last night. However, the good news for Ms.Knowles is that 'Girls' sounds like an absolute summer smash. Following the thought that Bey may possibly be channeling some kind of sonic emancipation lately, hiring artists such as Sleigh Bells and hip-hop collective Odd Future to work on her as-yet-untitled fourth album, the track is produced by M.I.A -cohorts Diplo and Switch. Heavily sampling their own Major Lazer track 'Pon De Floor' the two have given the 'Single Ladies' star a deranged dancehall-tribal beat on which for her to reaffirmate lyrically about the strength of women around the world. The lyrics are dodgy as hell ("Who run the world? Girls. Who run this motha? Girls") but it hardly matters.
Pop song of the summer so far?
